§ Mr. SalmondTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received from, and what discussions he has had with, fishing industry representatives regarding prospects for the industry in 1990; and if he will make a statement on the outcome of any such meetings.
§ Mr. CurryI and my officials are in frequent contact with the various representatives of the fishing industry. We discussed 1990 quotas and their implications in the run-up to the December Fisheries Council. I am working in close consultation with the industry to achieve improvements in our quota management and licensing arrangements and improved technical conservation measures.
