Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many men were in employment in each standard planning region in the United Kingdom; and how many women were in full and part-time employment in June 1979 at the latest date for which information is available.

Table 1 shows the male civilian work force in employment for each region in September 1989. Table 2 shows the total female civilian work force in employment in June 1979 and September 1989.
