HL Deb 19 December 1990 vol 524 c52WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention, along with bringing back the War Crimes Bill, to examine the possibility of war crimes having been committed during and in the aftermath of the Second World War by any British and/or Allied citizens within the United Kingdom or within areas of British responsibility; and if not why not.

Earl Ferrers

The courts already have jurisdiction over acts of murder and manslaughter (including war crimes committed in any country by British citizens).

It is open to anyone who has evidence that war crimes may have been committed to bring that information to the attention of the relevant prosecuting authorities.
