§ Mr. Kenneth CarlislePlans already exist to fit high intensity strobe lights to both variants of Tornado, Chinook and Nimrod. The Tucano is already fitted with "bright" strobe lights and there are currently no plans to retrofit these with HISLs. Due to its different mode of helicopter operations, the Navy has no current requirement for these lights. The exception is the Gazelle, used primarily for basic flying training purposes, and operated over land, which is fitted.
