§ Mr. Nicholas BennettThe provision of speech therapy services is the responsibility of district health authorities under the National Health Service Act 1977. Information on speech therapists employed by health authorities in Wales which relates to whole-time equivalents in post at 30 September 1990, is given in the following table. No information is held centrally on the numbers (if any) of speech therapists employed directly by county councils.
