§ Mr. BrookeSeventy-four people have died in Northern Ireland this year as a result of the security situation. Up to 30 September 1990, 288 people had been charged with terrorist-type offences, including six for murder and 49 for attempted murder, and 307 had been convicted of terrorist-type offences including two for murder and 21 for attempted murder.
