To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to meet the senior management of ScotRail to discuss improvements in the Glasgow Central—London Euston passenger service and other matters relating to rail services within Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 14 December 1990]: My right hon. and learned Friend will be having regular meetings with British Rail senior management to discuss a variety of railway matters, although he has no immediate plans to visit ScotRail. His predecessor my right hon. Friend the Member for Hertsmere (Mr. Parkinson), visited ScotRail as recently as 16 November.

attitudes to vehicle safety, among other types of survey. A complete list of surveys is maintained, but it it not possible to identify from this list those surveys that have included questions of opinion. I regret therefore that the information could be supplied only at disproportionate cost.
