HC Deb 17 December 1990 vol 183 c1W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Attorney-General if he will list any opinion surveys conducted by, for or on behalf of the Lord Chancellor's Department or the Law Officers since 1 January 1985 giving the date and purpose of each survey.

The Attorney-General

There has been one public opinion survey since January 1985.

Between December 1988 and January 1989 a poll of 1,000 members of the public was conducted by Public Attitude Surveys Ltd. on behalf of the Law Commission. The survey sought to identify public attitudes to the current law on intestacy; and on the current grounds for divorce.

Information about internal opinion surveys is not held centrally in my Department or the Lord Chancellor's Department and the information could be acquired only at disproportionate cost.
