To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what training has been given by United Kingdom police officers to police officers in Bangladesh in the last five years to date; what training has been received by Bangladeshi police officers in the United Kingdom over the same period; what was the nature of such training; and if he will make a statement.

There is no central record of any training having been given by United Kingdom police officers to police officers in Bangladesh in the last five years. The centrally recorded training received by Bangladeshi police officers in the United Kingdom in the same period is as follows:

1986 One officer attended the Overseas Command Course—Police Staff College, Bramshill.

1987 One officer attended the Senior Command Course and five officers attended the Overseas Command Course—Police Staff College, Bramshill.

1988 One officer attended a Scenes of Crime Course—Durham. One officer attended the Overseas Command Course—Police Staff College. Bramshill.

1989 One officer visited the Metropolitan Police to discuss Community Policing and Consultative Committees. One officer attended a Fingerprint/Photography Course—Durham. One officer attended a CID Course—West Yorkshire. Two officers attended the Overseas Command Course—Police Staff College, Bramshill.

1990 One officer attended a CID Course—West Yorkshire. One officer attended a Drug Detection Course—Lancashire. One officer attended the Senior Command Course and three officers attended the Overseas Command Course—Police Staff College, Bramshill
