§ Mr. BaldryThe United Kingdom is party to many international treaties and conventions concerned with the discharge of radioactive substances to the environment. In particular, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the European Communities conventions on early notification of a nuclear accident require that signatories should inform the relevant international organisation whenever there is an accident from which an international transboundary release is likely to occur that could be of radiological significance for another state.
