Lord Lloyd of Kilgerran

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Why Mansion House Underground Station is not being re-opened on 30th January 1991 as originally agreed with the London Regional Passengers Committee and others.

What steps are being taken to mimimise the local environmental problems, the continued inconvenience to commuters, and the financial losses to local traders arising from the failure to implement the assurances given to re-open Mansion House Underground Station by 30th January 1991.

What specific provisions are available to compensate the traders of Bow Lane for loss of trade based on commuters normally using Bow Lane, between Mansion House Underground Station and Cheapside arising directly from the failure to re-open that station on 30th January 1991

What representations they will make to the builders, the City of London and the railway authorities to minimise the environmental and financial problems associated with the failure to re-open Mansion House Underground Station on 30th January 1991 as agreed.

The Minister of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

The short delay in re-opening Mansion House station is an operational matter For London Underground Limited, and they will be writing to the noble Lord.
