§ Mr. Alan HowarthThe results of the systematic geological surveys of the United Kingdom carried out by the British Geological Survey are published in the form of geological maps, descriptive memoirs and reports. These have a wide range of applications including land use planning, mineral and groundwater resource assessment, engineering and geotechnical investigations and academic research.
