HL Deb 05 December 1990 vol 524 c15WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the United Kingdom has discussed with the Saudi authorities the expulsion of Yemeni workers from Saudi Arabia, and whether these expulsions are in accordance with the values for the protection of which British forces are in the Gulf area.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (The Earl of Caithness)

British and other forces were deployed to the Gulf in response to the Iraqi aggression and in defence of territorial integrity at the request of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. Other matters concerning relations between states in the region are not for the Government to comment on.
