HC Deb 04 December 1990 vol 182 c102W
Mr. Pendry

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) what financial assistance his Department provides for 19-year-olds in full-time non-advanced education; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what compensatory financial assistance his Department provides to families where parents are in receipt of income support and whose child is aged 19 years or older and in full-time non-advanced education;

(3) what financial assistance his Department provides to young people aged 19 years or older who are living independently and are in full-time non-advanced education.

Miss Widdecombe

These young people should apply to the local education authorities or the further education institution at which they study for financial assistance. They or their families claiming for them are not entitled to income support but for certain exceptions, including lone parent and disabled students.
