To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he will make a statement on the recent meeting he had with the trade unions at the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Energy and I met Atomic Energy Authority staff trade unions representatives on 22 January 1990. We discussed a range of issues, including the formation of Nuclear Electric, the maintenance of the nuclear option and the greenhouse effect.
