HC Deb 30 April 1990 vol 171 c406W
Mr. John Evans

To ask the Lord President of the Council if he will take steps to arrange for a stationery supplies store to be established in the Palace of Westminster for the purchase of common office requirements not readily available in shops close to the Palace.

Sir Geoffrey Howe

Present plans envisage that the first opportunity to establish any such service for those who work in the House will arise with the completion of phase I of the new parliamentary buildings when a small general shop run by the Refreshment Department and selling a limited range of essential items will be opened. Thereafter it is understood that planning for phase 2 will include the provision of a number of retail units.
