Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give the target reductions for energy consumption in the buildings occupied by his Department.

Mrs. Rumbold

The Department aims to reduce energy use by 15 per cent. (temperature corrected at constant prices) over the period 1990–91 to 1994–95.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will give the energy consumption, broken down by fuel, of the buildings occupied by his Department, for the latest year available.
