§ Mr. KilfedderTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total cost of the police and Army security operation mounted for the visit to Belfast of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Eire; and whether any part of the cost will be met from(a) European Community funds, (b) the Eire Government and (c) the Institute of Directors.
§ Mr. CopeThe extra cost of the police operation could be obtained only at disproportionate cost. None of the cost will be met from European Community Funds, the Government of the Republic of Ireland or the Institute of Directors. The cost of the Army operation is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence.
