§ Mr. RobertsThe table shows the total number of surplus places in primary and secondary schools in each county based on the latest available figures received from each local education authority. The criteria recommended for determining the capacities of schools are set out in Welsh Office circular 20/88, "Educational Quality in Wales: The Response to Falling School Rolls" for primary schools, whilst for secondary schools they are in Welsh Office circular 47/88, "Admission of Pupils to County and Voluntary Schools". Copies of both circulars are in the Library of the House.
