§ Mr. AlisonOut of their investment income the Commissioners contributed to clergy stipends £38.7 million in 1987, £42.5 million in 1988 and an estimated £50 million in 1989. These figures represent about 35 per cent. of the Commissioners' investment income in each year and met some 40 per cent. of the clergy stipends bill.
