To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he will issue a consultation pa per inviting views on whether planning controls should he extended to the demolition of dwelling houses.

My right hon. Friends the Secretary of State and the Secretary of State for Wales have today issued a consultation paper. It describes the issue, invites views on the scale of the problem, and seeks comments on various options for extending planning controls to the demolition of dwelling houses.
