Mr. Hanley

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) how much revenue he estimates would be raised by a 7.5 per cent. investment income surcharge on investment income above(a) £5,000, (b) £2,500 and (c) £1,000 in 1989–90;

(2) how much revenue he estimates would have been raised by a five per cent. investment income surcharge on investment income above (a) £5,000, (b) £2,500 and (c) £1,000 in 1989–90.
