§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe uniform business rate poundage for Wales is 36.8p. The method of calculating it did not depend upon a particular level of rate poundage. It has been set in line with the Government's commitment to raise broadly the same amount in real terms from private businesses and the nationalised industries in the first year of the new system as in the last year of the old.
