To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) if a Soviet aircraft has even been intercepted by a Royal Air Force aircraft operating from Stornoway;

(2) how many interceptions of Soviet military aircraft were made by Royal Air Force aircraft in the United Kingdom air defence region per week, on average, during 1989.
