To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department who has been appointed to succeed the late Lord Fraser of Tullybelton as president of the interception of communications tribunal; and if he will make a statement.

The hon. Mr. Justice Macpherson of Cluny has been appointed as president of the tribunal established under the Interception of Communications Act 1985.
