To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the chairman and the chief executive of the Fair Employment Commission are perceived to be(a) Protestants, (b) Roman Catholic or (c) other.

Mr. Needham

Under section 19 of the Fair Employment (Northern Ireland) Act 1989, with certain exceptions, the commission may not provide information which discloses, or from which there can be deduced, the religious belief of any identifiable individual without his or her written consent. No such consent has been given by the chairman or chief executive of the Fair Employment Commission.
