HL Deb 04 April 1990 vol 517 c1506WA
Lord Northfield

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether the report on three opticians, considered by the ophthalmic service committee of the Manchester Family Practitioner Committee on 20th April 1988, found that the opticians had been withholding from customers the prescription resulting from their sight tests.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Hooper)

The ophthalmic service committee of the Manchester Family Practitioner Committee recommended that the opticians had not breached their terms of service by withholding prescriptions and the FPC endorsed their recommendations.
