HL Deb 03 April 1990 vol 517 cc1389-90WA
Baroness Masham of Ilton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Following their advice to health authorities and social services authorities in November 1988 on the development of services to people with physical or sensory disabilities, what provision have district health authorities made for regular and adequate supplies of incontinence aids and reasonable access to urodynamic clinics; and which health authorities have identified a consultant and a physiotherapist to take a special interest in incontinence.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Hooper)

Both health authorities and local authorities have discretionary powers to provide incontinence supplies, aids and services; the extent to which they exercise these powers varies in the light of local needs and circumstances. Information is not held centrally on local service provision.
