§ Mr. GristDampness which is prejudicial to health could render a house unfit. The current home improvement grant arrangements provide help towards the cost of dealing with severe dampness. Under the new renovation grant arrangements which replace this system on 1 July mandatory grant will be available to enable properties to meet the fitness standard. The new arrangements will ensure that maximum assistance goes to those in greatest need.
