§ Mrs. ChalkerExpenditure on aid is increasing. The Government's Autumn Statement published on 15 November 1989 records that the aid programme is planned to rise from £1,500 million in 1989–90 to £1,587 million in 413W 1990–91, £1,680 million in 1991–92 and £1,750 million in 1992–93. This represents a cash increase of 16 per cent. over the next three years.
