§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many requests for exemptions from the requirement to teach Welsh as part of the core curriculum have been received from schools in(a) Wales, (b) each local education authority and (c) Pembrokeshire.
§ Mr. Wyn RobertsI have received requests for exemption from teaching Welsh in the national curriculum from 11 schools in Wales. These include four in Gwent; three in Clwyd; two each in West Glamorgan and Dyfed, both in Pembrokeshire.
