Mr. Pike

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will publish in theOfficial Report (a) the numbers in receipt of housing benefit and (b) the average amount of benefit payment in constant terms for (i) Burnley and (ii) each region in England for the last 10 years for which figures are available.

The estimated number of housing benefit recipients in Burnley is given in the table. Similar estimates are not available on a regional basis. The average amount of housing benefit in payment is not available at local authority or regional level.
