Mr. Wallace

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state for each of the last five years, and for 1989 to date(a) the number and locations of special protection areas designated under European Community directive 79/409 on the conservation of wild birds and (b) the amount of public money in constant 1989 prices spent in each of the last five years on meeting the United Kingdom's responsibilities and obligations in Scotland under that directive; and if he will make a statement on the further implementation of the directive.
