§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Attorney-General what steps he has taken to ensure the impartiality of immigration adjudicators and to ensure their freedom from pressure from any source to disallow more appeals brought before them; and if he will make a statement.
§ The Attorney-GeneralImmigration adjudicators are appointed by the Lord Chancellor. I have no reason to believe that the immigration adjudicators, who are independent judicial officers, are other than impartial or that they have been subject to any form of pressure to disallow more appeals.
