To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement in respect of comments received by his Department on the war crimes report.

Mr. John Patten

Since the war crimes inquiry's report was published, we have received a considerable number of letters representing a range of differing arguments of principle and practicality raised by the issue of war crimes prosecutions. We hope that it will be possible for the House to debate the issues raised by the report shortly.
