§ Mr. Peter LloydContact with blood after an accident may expose members of the emergency services to the risk of contracting one of the blood-borne infectious diseases. Guidance on the operational safety precautions which should be taken to reduce this risk is given in the circulars which the Home Office has issued to police forces and fire brigades on AIDS and hepatitis B. Guidance for the ambulance services is a matter for my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Health.
