Correspondence resulting from my predecessor's discussions with the Chairman of the Select Committee on European Legislation was published in the first special report from that Committee, Session 1988–89 (HC 533).

I will consider what further measures may be necessary when the Procedure Committee's recommendations are reported to the House.
