§ Mr. ScottAs my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Health explained in his statement on 12 July, the Government propose to transfer to local authorities the resources which would otherwise have been provided to finance care through social security payments to people in residential care and nursing homes. The precise amount of the transfer will not be settled until next year.
