§ Mr. RedwoodIt is not appropriate for Ministers to comment on the merits of a merger situation in advance of the Secretary of State's decision on the question of reference to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission. DRG will have had an opportunity to make representations about the bid by Pembridge Investments to the Director General of Fair Trading whose advice to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State on the question of reference to the Commission will reflect those representations.
