To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what are the latest figures for output per hour worked in(a) United Kingdom, (b) Japan and (c) Germany.

Recent estimates show that output per hour worked in the United Kingdom economy in 1986 was about 50 per cent. higher than in Japan and only 5 per cent. lower than in Germany.
