HC Deb 19 October 1989 vol 158 c219W
Dr. Thomas

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if he has recently taken, or plans to take, any policy decision on the collaboration of the United Kingdom with European Community partners to share knowledge and assistance in the circumstances of an accident involving radiation plants, nuclear fuel fabrication and enrichment plants, and in research reactors.

Mr. Michael Spicer

The Government are currently involved in discussions within the Council of the European Communities on measures to increase co-operation and assistance between member states in the event of a nuclear accident or radiological emergency. These proposals are detailed in European Community Document COM (89) 25 Final. On 26 June 1989, I signed an explanatory memorandum about the proposals which was placed in the Vote Office.
