Mr. Wray

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is for each year since 1975 the total amount of investment in the(a) chemical, (b) electronics, (c) textile and (d) motor car industries in 1989 moneys.

[holding answer 18 October 1989]: The latest annual census of production for which data are available is 1987. The figures, in the following table, have therefore been given in terms of 1987 prices.
