HC Deb 19 October 1989 vol 158 cc240-1W
Mr. Sillars

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the number of homeless people in Scotland as a whole, and for each of the four city district councils.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

The Scottish Development Department does not make estimates of the numbers of homeless people.

Details of the numbers of households who have applied to local authorities under the homelessness provisions of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 are shown in table 21 of the Scottish Development Department's statistical bulletin HSU No. 7 published in July 1989, copies of which are available in the House of Commons Library.
