§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe Government have no intention of amending the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 to introduce a levy on blank audio cassettes in the United Kingdom. They welcome and support the conclusion of the Commission of the European Communities in its Green paper "Copyright and the Challenge of Technology" that Community action to introduce or harmonise levies is not required.
