HL Deb 18 October 1989 vol 511 c1014WA
Lord Kennet

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What were the results of the recent meeting of scientists from countries with "Arctic" interests, whether the United Kingdom was represented, and if not, what steps Her Majesty's Government are taking to ensure British participation in international Arctic science.

Lord Brabazon of Tara

We are unaware of any recent such meeting. However, we continue to represent to the governments of the countries concerned our wish to see any new arrangements in the field of Arctic science open to full and equal participation by all countries which are actively engaged in Arctic scientific research.
