§ Mr. ChopeThe Government have received a number of representations about the impact of the recent influx of Turkish asylum-seekers. Housing benefit for which local authorities receive Government subsidy, and income support are payable to individual claimants and help has 113W been provided from the social fund in the form of crisis loans. In addition, the Government are making exceptional payments to voluntary organisations. Ministers are currently considering the representations which have been made for additional assistance to the boroughs.
