§ Mr. Dalyell
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the Paris meeting on the Antarctic.

§ Mr. Sainsbury
The fifteenth Antarctic treaty consultative meeting is still in progress. Its final report will be adopted on 20 October.

§ Mr. Dalyell
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what action he is taking to promote the establishment of an Antarctic treaty secretariat.

§ Mr. Sainsbury
At the fifteenth Antarctic treaty consultative meeting currently being held in Paris, our delegation will be pressing for a decision in principle that an Antarctic treaty secretariat should be established.
