HC Deb 30 November 1989 vol 162 c405W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy when he expects to introduce legislation to implement the recommendations of the Waddlilove committee on subsidence.

Mr. Wakeham

Over half the recommendations of the Waddilove committee have already been implemented wholly or in part by British Coal. (For details, I refer the hon. Member to the reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Ellesmore Port and Neston (Dr. Woodcock) on 12 January at columns739–41). The Government's proposals for legislation concerning the remaining recommendations will be implemented as soon as the parliamentary timetable permits.
