Mr. JacksonMy right hon. Friend recently received advice from the ABRC on the future structure of the research council system. This arose from consideration of a report to the board by a review group under the chairmanship of Mr. J. R. S. Morris CBE which recommended a merger of the present five research councils.
My right hon. Friend is considering the board's advice and will make a statement in due course.
