Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs discussed the dramatic changes taking place in eastern Europe, including the GDR, and the Community's response to them. They agreed on the importance of real political and economic reform in the GDR. My right hon. Friend will resume his discussions with Herr Genscher this evening.
